Ancillaries |
---|
As part of the travel experience, Ancillary services are offered to passengers in addition to the flight, these can include such products as: additional bags; seat selection; priority boarding; carriage of sports equipment; pre-order food; etc.
In addition to the basic ticket price, passengers can choose to purchase “À la Carte” services from a list of those available to enhance their flight experience. This list can vary depending on route, dates, capacity and other factors.
Free services, such as those offered at no additional cost to passengers with reduced mobility, or special meals for dietary purposes, may also be included as part of the Ancillary offerings (for further information, please visit our Special Services Request page).
Presently, the purchase of Ancillaries on Unpaid (On-Hold) Orders is not permitted. The only exception at the moment is when booking free Seats.
Today our Ancillary offerings through our NDC API include:
Iberia requires that an Offer has been generated, or an Order created to request the availability of ancillaries, and therefore an OfferID or OrderID must be included in the SeatAvailabilityRQ message (applicable to ‘Seats’) and ServiceListRQ message (which applies to the rest of Ancillaries and Special Services).
Ancillaries in NDC are located in the following messages:
The first grouping level, which includes first level services such as Baggage, Meals, Frequent Flyer, In-flight Entertainment, etc., is referenced as Group.
The subsequent level, that comprises services such as Sporting Equipment or Speciality Items within Baggage, is referenced as Sub Group.
The use of Groups and Sub Groups is key to categorize and classify the variety of Ancillaries for their correct display to the user/customer.
For a comprehensive and official source of Groups, Sub Groups, and Sub Codes, please see the ATPCo Optional Services Industry Sub Codes.
When new services are released, we will publish the new applicable ServiceFilters, and you can include them as and when required, as per the following examples:
